   When training your pup or dog, use hand signals as well as word comands, this way when your dog is in the distance it can still understand what you mean. For example, use one finger (pointer finger) straight up pointing to the sky for sit, hand flat with all fingers pointing to the sky for stay, arm above your head and fist close for come, these signs can be seen from a distance, so when your dog finds a truffle you can say it's name or whistle it to get attention then give it a comand by hand. A good truffle hunting dog should be able to work off lead for you, and you should be able to have full voice or hand control at all times.
