Annual General Meeting and Information Day, July 2010.

Posted by wayne on March 7th, 2010

The Association’s AGM and information Day for 2010 is the be held in the Central Ranges growing area of NSW on the weekend of 17 and 18 July 2010 and is open to the public. For the convenience of visitors, the venue for the meeting will be the Orange ex-Service’ Club in the centre of town. There are a number of options for accommodation but the closest (walking distance) are the Templers Mill Motel and the Town Square Motel. The Association dinner will be held on the night of the Saturday 17th of July at the Highland Heritage Estate Restaurant. Numbers will be limited so it would be wise to book early.

Further details of the two days’ events will be available later on the website and by bulletin to members.

Exciting news that there’s to be an info day in Orange. Will trees be for sale? I was looking to just have a few trees for personal use but it would seem that succesful innoculation is difficult and I may need to plant 20 or so trees and cull after a few years

Firstly, a big Thank You to the committee for a wonderful AGM weekend on 17th & 18th July.
Regarding promotion of the industry, how about the Aust. Truffle Grower’s Assn. print up some smart looking recipe cards including correct storage of truffles.
These cards could be handed out by growers at point of sale i.e farmers markets, restaurants etc. These cards could also be given to wholesalers for distribution to
their customers.

Another thought is to do a line of clothing which would also help promote the industry. We could do winter vests & coats, caps and hats, all with Trufflegrowers logos, advertising etc. printed on them. This clothing would be bought by members and worn in the general community as a way of promoting our industry. This would also provide income for the association.
